Laluzapalooza 2017

Airbnb lodging on Prospect Ave. a couple of blocks away from the gallery
The neighborhood

We had drinks in the Drawing Room after the opening on Friday.

Ate a good veggie dinner here on Thursday

Some of the work at the show

Sold on opening night to Sheldon Donig

Detail on the above piece

After Thursday's artist meet and greet it was off to the Good Luck Bar

Friday we went to visit Peter Shire's Echo Park Pottery production facility where his wife Donna took us on a tour. Peter was the only American to be invited by Ettore Sotsass to join the Italian design group Memphis. He designs and fabricates furniture as well. Peter also produces sculptures for public spaces, some of which can be seen in progress here.

Peter is Billy's brother, Billy owns the La Luz De Jesus Gallery where the show is.

Seen on a wall along Sunset Blvd.

After the public opening on Friday we headed to Tiki Ti for a mixed drink. These bar tenders are NOT messing around. Allie had a "Milky Way" and it could have possibly been the best drink I have ever tasted.

Seen on the way to the Dresden for drinks...
